VANCOUVER’S BUILDING BYLAW (2014 EDITION)!

Vancouver, British Columbia – Implementation of the new VBBL has been postponed from the much anticipated July 1, 2014 release to January 1, 2015.

ASTTBC’S NEW WEBSITE

Vancouver, British Columbia - ASTTBC launched a “new look” website for the Fire Protection Program.  Looks good so far!  We’ve updated all of the links on our portal page (just in case you’re having problems with your mobile device).

CHANGES TO CFAA’S BC CHAPTER BOARD

Vancouver, British Columbia - CFAA’s BC Chapter President, Gord Morrison, recently announced that Ron Hull and Ray Newberry have retired from the BC Chapter Board.  We wish them all the best and extend our heartfelt thanks for their many years of dedicated service.

 

ASTTBC CERTIFICATION BOARD CHAIR MURDERED!

Delta, British Columbia - Dale Maranda of Metro Vent Cleaning and the Chair of the ASTTBC Fire Protection Certification Board was the victim of a homicide on May 18, 2014.  His son, Richard (who is also a member of the Fire Protection Certification Board and the manager of Metro Vent Cleaning), has been arrested and charged with his murder.  (Source - The Delta Optimist)
