Hello,
During the annual fire inspection is it required to test class A wiring loop coming
back to the fire panel, for open, short, and ground.

Clause 6.6.1 Each data communication link (DCL) shall be tested to confirm that a trouble signal is received at the control unit or transponder under an open loop fault.
At the control unit:

F - Ground fault tested on positive and negative initiates a trouble signal;
R - Input circuit, alarm and supervisory operation, including audible and visual indication;
S - Input circuit supervision fault causes a trouble indication;
